HERE'S AN IDEA

Great idea from Greg Gutfeld:

Many thoughtful environmentalists are telling us that our planet is facing a deadly calamity. The combination of overpopulation and increasing greenhouses gases puts us on a path to destroy Mother Earth... unless we do something now.

• Feeling peckish? Watch Greg's Greg-alogue

Two suggestions to prevent such disaster were unveiled this week:

In England, scientists suggested creating restrictions on family sizes, to reduce the global population.

Meanwhile, researchers in Japan suggest an end to eating meat, since producing beef is responsible for more pollution than driving a car for three hours.

I have examined this problem and came up with a simple solution: If overpopulation and consumption of animals cause major harm to our planet, then we can simply end both threats — through cannibalism.

Yes people, let's eat each other.

Like acupuncture and Yoga, cannibalism has been around for centuries. And as you know, we are always willing to embrace anything associated with ancient, spiritual cultures. And, believe me, you can't get any more ancient or spiritual than a self-consuming practice that protects animals while paying tribute to our planet.

Think of it as a healing process for the Earth… but in a pot with carrots and spring potatoes.

Because, to embrace environmentalism, you must reject the idea that humanity is special, or any possibility that something good might come from creating more people.

So dig in. I suggest we start with Al Gore. He's got some tender meat on those thighs!

And that's my gut feeling.

How can you teach British history without mentioning Churchill?

SCOOTER LIBBY

FINALLY! The President has shown some cajones.

Only, why commute the 30 month prison sentence and leave the rest? Why not pardon Mr. Libby completely of this politically driven  disgrace of a prosecution?

Was GW afraid the Dems wouldn't love him if he went the whole way?

Note to George: THEY HATE YOU ANYWAY! You would have done a lot more to improve your ratings and serve justice if you had given a full and complete pardon.

THE GREAT DEBATE

So who won? Gov. Romney. No question.

He was smooth, confident, crisp, self assured, direct and positive. Everyone else seemed a bit tentative. None were bad. All made their points. But Romney shoe through.

And, of course, in comparison to the dwarf Dems last week, EVERY Republican candidate seemed like a giant.

Now if Fred T. and Newt G. join in, it could be even more fun.

TARZANA JOE ON HUGH HEWITT

If you missed it on Hugh Hewitt's radio show yesterday (shame of you) here is the latest offering from resident poet Tarzana Joe on our unfalteringly inane Democratic Senate leader, Harry "We're Number Two" Reid:

Thoughts for Harry Reid
By Tarzana Joe

Would Rockne be remembered
If the towel he had tossed?
Forget about the Gipper, boys
This game's already lost.

Would Lincoln be a hero
And on pennies be embossed
If he announced that, after Shiloh
This Union, friends, is lost.

Would Caesar have surrendered
Before the Rubicon was crossed?
Did Ulysses pull the plug
When his barque was tempest-tossed?

Would Perry's flag be flying
Would hist'ry gip a rip
If, on it, he embroidered
"Do give up the ship!"

If we'd been bowed by setbacks
Or our opponents' fury
Nothing would have happened
On the deck of the Missouri

So in the battle of our lifetime
If I can be the chooser
I'd rather keep on fighting
Than declare myself the loser.

VIRGINIA TECH

Like everyone else, I have been extremely disturbed by the shootings at Virginia Tech. I grieve for the students, faculty and parents and the horror visited upon them by a madman.

But I have been troubled by something else. Besides the inevitable wails for gun control and the usual "it's all our fault nonsense",  I am bothered by the fact lone gunman could line up and execute 30+ people. And they stood there and let it happen. Nobody rushed the lunatic. Nobody through a desk or a book or anything at him to slow his murderous progress.

This may sound harsh. And I do not mean it to be so. However, I wish someone there had the fortitude or courage to try something.

As usual, Mark Steyn says it all better than I can:

I haven't weighed in yet on Virginia Tech — mainly because, in a saner world, it would not be the kind of incident one needed to have a partisan opinion on. But I was giving a couple of speeches in Minnesota yesterday and I was asked about it and found myself more and more disturbed by the tone of the coverage. I'm not sure I'm ready to go the full Derb but I think he's closer to the reality of the situation than most. On Monday night, Geraldo was all over Fox News saying we have to accept that, in this horrible world we live in, our "children" need to be "protected."

Point one: They're not "children." The students at Virginia Tech were grown women and — if you'll forgive the expression — men. They would be regarded as adults by any other society in the history of our planet. Granted, we live in a selectively infantilized culture where twentysomethings are "children" if they're serving in the Third Infantry Division in Ramadi but grown-ups making rational choices if they drop to the broadloom in President Clinton's Oval Office. Nonetheless, it's deeply damaging to portray fit fully formed adults as children who need to be protected. We should be raising them to understand that there will be moments in life when you need to protect yourself — and, in a "horrible" world, there may come moments when you have to choose between protecting yourself or others. It is a poor reflection on us that, in those first critical seconds where one has to make a decision, only an elderly Holocaust survivor, Professor Librescu, understood instinctively the obligation to act.

HERE COME THE SPARTANS

The New York Times hates the new Zack Snyder film, "300".

"300" is about as violent as "Apocalypto" and twice as stupid.

So do a lot of other left wing rags who deplore real history and prefer the revisionist version where the Greeks are not white Europeans and the Persians are not swarthy Asians.

And that is good enough for me. I can't wait to see "300".

Actually, my interest extends beyond loving anything which gives leftists pain. Although, that is an excellent reason. But I also love history, especially ancient history, and more especially ancient history which immortalizes noble sacrifice and honor, which is so lacking in today's narcissistic population of sheep.

Plus I loved "Sin City", the first depiction of another of Frank Miller's graphic novels.  These are great, stylized , innovative efforts in film making. Totally different than the usual left wing propaganda pap spewing from the pores of no talent Hollywood babies.

So, off I go to the theater for the first time in along time to vote with my money in favor of something worth my time and gold.

Here come the Spartans baby!

WHAT MORE IS THERE TO SAY?

>From the Washington Post:

"A bipartisan investigation by the Senate intelligence committee subsequently established that all of these claims [by former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV] were false -- and that Mr. Wilson was recommended for the Niger trip by Ms. Plame, his wife... The [Libby] trial has provided convincing evidence that there was no conspiracy to punish Mr. Wilson by leaking Ms. Plame's identity -- and no evidence that she was, in fact, covert... The former ambassador will be remembered as a blowhard. Mr. Cheney and Mr. Libby were overbearing in their zeal to rebut Mr. Wilson and careless in their handling of classified information. Mr. Libby's subsequent false statements were reprehensible. And Mr. Fitzgerald has shown again why handing a Washington political case to a federal special prosecutor is a prescription for excess. Mr. Fitzgerald was, at least, right about one thing: The Wilson-Plame case, and Mr. Libby's conviction, tell us nothing about the war in Iraq"

SO WHAT DID YOU DO?

So did anyone watch the Oscars?

Didn't think so. Neither did I. And now I am especially glad I did not, given that Slick Willie's former veep won an award for his hot air docu-propaganda. Not exactly a surprise. After all, who else would a bunch of pompous losers choose to celebrate other than the biggest loser of the decade?

The best part is, now after all the talk of his enviro-creds, it is reported he lives in a humongous shack back in Tennessee, that use 20 TIMES the energy of your standard  working stiff's home. Plus this is only one of three  palaces Mr. Clean  owns.

Oh, hypocrisy thy name is left wing, liberal Democratic assholes. There should be special award just for them. I mean besides the Oscars.  Those used to be for films, before they were hijacked by politically correct Hollywood fascists.

But who to choose for the award? There are some real contenders! Suggest away.

WHERE'S THE BEEF?

According to the Christian Science Monitor, it's everywhere.

Livestock are responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse-gas emissions as measured in carbon dioxide equivalent, reports the FAO. This includes 9 percent of all CO2 emissions, 37 percent of methane, and 65 percent of nitrous oxide. Altogether, that's more than the emissions caused by transportation.

Next up for Al "I invented everything" Gore and the looney Democrats: "EAT A BURGER, GO TO JAIL!!!"

Make mine medium rare please.

LIKE ANY GOOD LIBERAL FASCIST

Find Ellen Goodman's intolerant rant here. A sample:

I would like to say we're at a point where global warming is impossible to deny. Let's just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future.

WHAT THE DEMOCRATS AND MEDIA WON'T TELL YOU

From Investors Business Daily:

...our newspapers and TV talking heads are obsessed with stories of mass "inequality" and "middle-class squeeze" and "jobs shipped abroad" and "falling behind."

Reality is quite different, of course. But reality can never be permitted to get in the way of Bush-bashing — the stock in trade of the mainstream media and their allies in the Democratic Party.

So what's the real record? Since Bush's tax cuts took effect in mid-2003:

• Real gross domestic product is up to $1.33 trillion, or 12.6%.

• Existing businesses have hired 5.9 million workers (not counting the millions of jobs entrepreneurs have created).

• Corporate profits have soared 91% to $1.6 trillion.

• Tax receipts have leapt $503 billion, or roughly 1.1 percentage points of GDP, refuting the notion the tax cuts "caused" deficits.

And thanks to rebounding stock prices and huge gains in home values, Americans' total wealth has soared 39% to $54 trillion — the biggest expansion ever.

After such a stellar performance, a breather — what economists call a "midcycle correction" — would be in order. Yet the economy continues to power ahead.

In 2006's final period, GDP growth was 3.5%, and it has averaged 3% since the tax cuts. Real wages rose 1.7% in '06, much faster than the 0.3% average of the Clinton years. In just the last 12 months, unemployment plunged from 5.0% to 4.5%, near postwar lows.

I LOVE THE PENTAX *istDL

GUESS WHO JR IS ROOTING FOR?

IT'S ALL GONNA BE OK

Now that Mama Nancy is in charge.

What crock!. Despite her best efforts to look like House Mother, she is still a left wing, San Francisco radical bent on destroying the country. The agenda has never changed.

Luckily, it won't matter. The last election was not a mandate for the Donothingdemocrats ("DNDs"). The barely squeaked by. Plus all the "new" DNDs were conservative, And in the case of Webb in Va., a former Republican. Also,  take a look at the state ballot initiatives. No to affirmative action, No to illegal immigration, No to gay marriage, etc.

What We The People bought was GRIDLOCK. The next 2 years will be static with nothing going forward. Stalemate between Congress and the Pres. And that's the way we usually like it. Reagan had Tip, Bill had Newt and now W has Nancy.

It is all part of the unacknowledged wisdom of the American people. The less government we have, the better we like it.

Mama Mia!
