Year end is always a good time to review. And this has been a year with lots to consider. I seemed like for every action there was an equal and opposite reaction. Consider:
The Dems ran everyone in the primaries only to chose the original frontrunner to lose to Bush.
The Yankees and Cards blitzed the regular season only to lose to Boston (Boston?).
Michael Moore got (and gave) the hype, but Gibson stole the show.
Liberal groups spent a fortune to defeat the Prez but W won by 3 million votes. And increased the Rep's lead in Congress.
Reagan died but so did Arafat.
Democracy can't be exported but Afghanistan and Ukraine voted and Iraq will on Jan. 30.
The MSM lied continually to the public but were outed by the Blogosphere.
America stayed the course and will prevail while old Europe dithers and declines.
2004 opened with much hope and ended with a tsunami that killed thousands.
Quite an eventful year. And 2005 looks to be more of the same. It should be interesting. It could offer challenges but also hope. It may prove to be the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning, to quote Churchill.
In any case it will be up to us to face it with courage, optimism and hope. It is the only choice we have. It's how we are built. And it's how we move ahead.
Happy New Year.

CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER
Liberal PBS pundit Bill Moyers had a few unrestrained comments on the verge of his long overdue retirement:
"I'm going out telling the story that I think is the biggest story of our time: how the right-wing media has become a partisan propaganda arm of the Republican National Committee. We have an ideological press that's interested in the election of Republicans, and a mainstream press that's interested in the bottom line. Therefore, we don't have a vigilant, independent press whose interest is the American people."

PULEEEEESE!!!!
The "mainstream press" has been a virtual subsidiary of the Democratic Party for over 50 years. They actually believe their own partisan lies and think they are mainstream!
EARTH TO MSM: You guys are done. Your one sided, insulting tripe cannot be sold anymore. You have been found out, indicted and sentenced to obscurity by the Blogosphere. You cannot hide nor escape from the truth and the people's rath.
Enjoy your retirement into oblivion Mr. Moyers.

SOMETHING TO PONDER
After all the partisan screaming and swooning between residents of blue and red states, it is important to reflect on the broader outcome of elections. In fact, our system of checks and balances does a pretty fair job of keeping us from going off the deep end. Elections are harshly fought, but we have historically come back together and moved on. That will occur this time as well.
The presidency gets the lion's share of our attention. As it should. Everything is focused on one person and it is easy to identify our successes and failures with one individucal. But no president trys to do a bad job. We have actually been blessed by generally well meainig, if not always competent chief executives. They all faced different challenges and they all contributed to what we are today as a nation. They all deserve out thanks.
Michael Barone has a fine piece on the strengths and limitations of presidential power. Worth a read.

TINSELTOWN COWARDS
Notice how quick the loudmouths in Hollywood are to claim their freedoms are being curtailed when anyone even questions their motives?
Notice how they rally around any lunatice leftist "artist" in the name of freedom of speech?
Sincere and noble defenders of basic human rights for all artists around the world.
Well, maybe.
What if the shoe is on the other foot? What if the "artist" being persecuted is a conservative or questions the standard issue, Hollywood psycho-babble?
Well then it's an understandable reaction of an oppressed minority expressing their anger through revolutionary acts of protest!
Such is the case of Dutch director, Theo van Gogh, who was shot while bicycling through the streets of Amsterdam. His attacker then stabbed him in the chest and slit his throat.
Where is the outrage? Don't try listening too hard. There is none.
Pat Sajak has a terrific piece in Human Events you should read. Then think about Babara Streisand, Michael Moore and the other self proclaimed defenders of free speech.
Can you say cowards? Or hypocrites?

THE REAL WAR
Read here why we are winning the WOT (war on terror). Even liberals should be able to understand this.

UNBELIEVABLE
Is this unbelievable or what?
It seems the leftists don't even have enough finesse to cloak their anti-American P.C. nonsense behind some liberal blather.
Now it's not permissable to teach the Declaration of Independence!
No wonder insipid mediocrity is the only prodcut of our public school system.

WHINERS
I have lots of Democratic and other left-leaning friends. Generally nice people. But they are also typical blue staters who think of themselves as the educated elite. Total arrogance. That's the price you pay for being in the entertainment business, particularly in LA or NY.
But no matter how close to normal (other than their weird voting habits) they try to be, some just can't get over this election. "What are we going to do?", "How could this have happened?", etc. You get the drift.
Of course they had no clue before or after the election why they were destined to lose. Simply, they are so atypical of mainstream America, it never occurs to them to do a gut check. Sorry folks, but you are the ones out of step.
Your brand of socialist medicine in never going to be accepted here. And if you had any sense or character you would realize your own self interest (and that of your nation, BTW) are not seved by the lies and distortions of Michael Moore and his crowd. You applaud his political pornography but fail to grasp the danger we face.
Well, in the interest of amity and reconciliation., I offer these words to all limosuine liberals, left coast losers and union no-nothings: GET OVER IT!
Grow up or move to Canada or slit your wrists or whatever, but get over it. You are not only stupid...you are BORING!
You ain't the first folks to lose an election. And this certainly won't be your last. Just nominate Hillary and see what happens. Can you imagine 50 red states?

WEEKEND STUFF
Major football news. Both St. Bonaventure and the T.O. Titans won. Two great games, but too close for comfort. I suspect two p***ed coaches will have some choice words this week.
But even a sloppy win goes in the W column and both teams advance to the playoffs.
While I want to remain positive, I cannot wait for the season(s) to be over. Between practice, pre-season, season and post-season, I am thoroughly footballed out!
I say win the damn trophies and be done!
